Tiffany Hepner is a Research Scientist Associate at the Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include beach and inlet morphodynamics and effects of severe weather such as hurricanes and El Niño on coastal areas. Tiffany recently joined the Bureau after completing her Master's degree in Coastal Geology from the University of South Florida, Tampa. Dr. James Gibeaut is a Research Associate at the Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Gibeaut specializes in beach and tidal inlet morphodynamics and has over ten years’ experience in collecting hydrographic and sedimentologic data in coastal environments. He has published articles and reports concerning modeling and statistical analysis of beach and inlet dynamics, and his research has been applied to coastal management problems in Rhode Island, Florida, and Texas. Dr. Gibeaut consulted with the State of Alaska and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on matters concerning damage and cleanup of the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
